Educational Services
Family Educational Services was founded by Nancy Thomas, RN, LPA on June 7, 2017. Nancy is a Registered Nurse and Licensed Personnel Agent. She has over 25 years of experience in Rehabilitation and Nursing. She partnered with her Chief of Staff, who has over 10 years of workforce development experience with the State of Michigan. Together, they have blended their expertise and created a Return To Work program that serves individuals with injuries and disabilities and focuses on those that desire to return to the workforce but are medically, mentally or socially impaired. We provide medical services, vocational training and other employment services that are needed to return to work, enter a new line of work or enter the workforce for the first time. Our nurses and social workers provide case management and psychosocial support to medically complex individuals so that barriers to their employment are managed and do not become an impediment. Our vocational and academic staff begin with assessments (including WorkKeys and MyMajors) that serve as a baseline to identify the skills that are required for long term workplace success. Care and services are provided as reflected in the Nursing Care Plan, Individual Work Plan and/or Individual Academic Plan. Our goal is to enhance the fabric of our community, one family at a time, by leveraging resources and facilitating employability.
